This was to be our last pool of the day and we arrived with the rain still falling. It was depressing to see an empty pool but the bonus for us was that we could swim our 70 lengths unimpeded by other swimmers. This was a good small pool that was well looked after and I am sure on a good day, well used. The water temperature was just right for a serious swim. When I got out, I thought it rather odd that I didn’t find Dave in the changing room. However, the answer to this became apparent when I emerged from the ladies changing room: silly boy! Then off to Liz and Martin for a curry and a comfortable overnight stay in Wheathampstead.
