6pm, its dark and we still apparently haven't got enough onions on the little barge. The deck is littered with collapsed people and luggage. Heads keep on popping up from the lifeboats. Why didn't we think of using them ?
Tibbs occasionally appears with puffer fish. He's been fishing off the back since we came on board 4 hours ago.
The Brits from last night finally showed up after a frantic day in Aswan. I know how they feel. They are travelling first class and are waiting to load their 2 cars on top of the onion mountain on the barge. In the mean time, our half empty barge should be about 3 hours ahead of us, but apparently it can't progress in the dark. We should pass it at some point once we get going.
