PETE and Kathy Maybery held a garden party and barbecue for Weymouth Rowing Club at their lovely home.

The weather was just perfect and a host of friends and supporters enjoyed a superb afternoon and evening.

The beautiful garden is maturing and developing after the spectacular makeover last spring by award winning designer, Michelle Brown, who is a keen rower and is pictured with Kathy at the popular plant stall.

Children’s games, cream teas and a range of attractions, followed by an evening barbecue ensured a thoroughly enjoyable occasion, with £788 being raised for the rowing club.

Kathy thanks Bookers, Craig’s Dairy and Sun Flowers, the generous sponsors who ensured the success of the occasion, along with the team of supporters and helpers who participated in the big bake and rallied round in so many ways!

HELPING at the Holly Court table-top sale, Derek Porter and Roy Vincent sold a variety of bric-a-brac, books and raffle tickets at this annual money-spinner.

They dodged the showers and set up the stalls over a week of fund raising, which they hope will top last year’s £240, which was shared between NSPCC and Monkey World.

Residents will meet to decide where the proceeds for this year’s table-top sale will go.
