IMPACT is a new series of Ladies Lunches for those in the Melbury Team area. Do come along if you are interested in enjoying an informal lunch in stimulating company, exploring the impact of Christian faith in the lives of a diverse range of speakers.

  • MIRACLE Theatre presents the pantomime Rumpelstiltskin at Melbury Osmund Village Hall on Thursday, January 21
  • LOCAL Band will be performing at the Fox and Hounds, Cattistock, from 9pm on Friday, January 22.

Do come along and support this locally formed band, before they hit the big time and move into higher circles!

  • CHILDREN of Fiji is holding a coffee morning in the Savill Hall, Cattistock at 10.30am on Saturday, January 23.

Any donations of cakes, items for other stalls and raffle prizes or offers of help on the day will be gratefully received.

  • ARTSREACH presents Tom Langham’s Hot Fingers in Evershot Village Hall on Saturday, January 23. The music features jazzy swing on acoustic instruments.
  • CELEBRATE Burns Night and fundraise for Breakthrough Breast Cancer at Stratton Village Hall at 7.30pm on Saturday, January 23.

There will be a traditional 3-course Burns Supper (vegetarian option and alternative to haggis available!).

Entertainment will be Scottish themed, and there will also be a raffle and bar.

All proceeds will go to Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

  • DIGITAL Switchover advice will be available at a Roadshow being held in the Savill Hall, Cattistock, on Thursday, January 25 between 10am and 12 noon.

Do come along if you have any particular questions or simply wish to find out more about the implications of the switchover.

Membership costs £20 per term (including workshops). The reduced membership of £10 does not include workshops. Non-members are welcome to workshops at £15 per session, if space is available.

The usual weekly meetings take place between 2 and 4pm, while workshops are from 10.30am until 4pm.

The art group’s first session will be on Wednesday, January 27 with Roberta Bee tackling the subject of Reflections (mixed media).

  • A NEW session of exercises to maintain Whole Body Health has started in Maiden Newton Village Hall on Thursday afternoons from 2 until 3pm.
