PARTY-GOERS are preparing to have a fabulous night out at a Dirty Dancing themed fundraiser tomorrow.

A handful of tickets are remaining for the fancy dress fundraiser at the Riviera Hotel at Bowleaze from 7.30pm to midnight.

Proceeds from the event, based on the 1987 Dirty Danc-ing film, will go towards the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust.

Organiser Melissa Denton-Allen said: “It’s shaping up to be a really varied and fun evening.

“We have lots of couples and large groups coming.

“Salsa Siempre is doing a class at the beginning of the night to get everyone in the mood.

“Washboard waiters will give out a free watermelon shot on arrival. There will be a cabaret performance by Quay Theatre Arts and makeovers with Virgin Vie.”

Melissa added: “We have lots of raffle prizes and the Riviera are doing some special cocktails and food.

“We’ll also have the original Dirty Dancing soundtrack and lots of mambo numbers from Adam at Mobile Entertainments.”

Melissa came up with the idea for the Dirty Dancing film theme after the death of actor Patrick Swayze from cancer last year.

Party-goers are being encouraged to don fancy dress for the night.

Banus nightclub in the town centre has offered free entry to anyone making it into town afterwards.
