CHRISTCHURCH police are trying to track down a schoolgirl who went missing from her home in Purewell on Sunday.

Sarah Lewis, 14, was last seen at home at 7pm on Sunday. Her worried mother contacted police four hours later.

Sgt Graham Melly said: "Sarah has not gone missing before so this is quite out of the ordinary.

"Sarah's family are very worried about her and just want her to return home safe and well.

"We believe that Sarah has friends in the Somerford area of Christchurch whom she might be staying with.

"I am appealing to anyone who knows where Sarah is to contact Dorset Police in confidence."

He said Sarah is 5ft 6in tall with long blonde hair which is usually tied up. She has blue eyes and pierced ears and was last seen wearing a navy and pink tracksuit top, track bottoms and white trainers.
