LITTLE Briony Kiddle was left broken-hearted after being snubbed by stars at the Weymouth pop concert

Briony, nine, had been looking forward to meeting popstars, including her favourites Girls Aloud, at Pop 4 Weymouth after winning a competition on local radio station Wessex FM.

But the promised meeting never took place, leaving the Radipole Primary school pupil in tears.

Briony's mum Mim Kiddle, of Cleveland Avenue, said her daughter had been left bitterly disappointed by the day.

Mrs Kiddle, 40, said: "All week before the concert they had been playing a trailer with Nadine from Girls Aloud saying she was looking forward to coming to Weymouth and especially to meeting Briony, so they knew it was going to happen, but I just don't think they had it organised.

"We were told to be there for 12.15pm but Girls Aloud didn't arrive until 4.30pm, so they told us something would be arranged for later.

"We were told to come back at 3pm and mustn't be late otherwise we would miss out. We were there with about 20 others by a quarter to three.

"Then this woman from the station came and said she was really sorry but we couldn't meet any stars. They said we could meet 5 Boys, which was nice but we had never heard of them until yesterday."

Mrs Kiddle added: "She's been really excited about it for two weeks, she'd told all her friends and was really looking forward to it.

"I think it's disgusting.

"They had built up her hopes. It was her dream to meet the band. You can't make promises to children and not keep them like this.

"It should all have been arranged before they came.

"After Girls Aloud came off stage Briony said she wanted to go home. She was bitterly disappointed."
