Dorchester boss Mark Morris declared that "everything is coming together at last" after he swooped to sign two new players ahead of tonight's Nationwide Conference South trip to Havant and Waterlooville.

Former Reading central defender Gary Middleton, 19, will definitely be in the Magpies' squad at West Leigh Park after signing non-contract terms.

Striker Juan Ugarte, who has played for top Spanish club Real Sociedad, has also agreed terms with Morris, whose side picked up their first points of the season on Saturday when they beat relegated Nationwide Conference outfit Margate 2-0 at the Avenue Stadium with a double strike from Matt Groves.

However the debut of the former team-mate of Joseba Barandiaran, Dorchester's other new signing from the Basque region of Spain, who made an impressive debut on Saturday, could be delayed while the Magpies go through the protracted process of obtaining international clearance.

"It has taken longer than I hoped to build the squad up but I'm delighted with these two signings which give us a few more options," said Morris today.

"Gary Middleton, who lives in Blandford was released at the end of last season by Reading after being with them since he was a kid. He has a decent pedigree and had trials with Bournemouth and played against us in our friendly with them last month.

"Sean O'Driscoll didn't take him on, but he rates him and recommended him to us and I'm sure he will be keeping an eye on his progress."

Morris had feared he might be forced to recall goalkeeper Mark Ormerod from his loan to Ryman League Worthing for tonight's game after number one Craig Bradshaw picked up a foot injury on Saturday.

"But he had treatment after the match and although his instep is a bit sore he rang me yesterday to say he would be okay so Mark will continue his loan at Worthing and is due to play his second game for them tomorrow night," said Morris.

Mark Robinson, named man of the match by the sponsors after playing an influential role in the defeat of Margate, is again unavailable tonight because of a prison service training course.

But Justin Keeler, who was troubled by a recurring groin strain and pulled out of Saturday's match, is likely to return as a substitute.
