A MAN has been warned he could be jailed after he admitted possessing indecent photographs of children.
IT worker James Alexander Jackson, 26, of Sandbourne Avenue, Blandford, was one of the thousands of names police officers in the UK were given as part of the world wide paedophile investigation Operation Ore.
Prosecutor Brian Drew said Jackson was charged with 14 counts of possessing indecent pictures of a child between December 4, 1998 and December 31, 2002.
He added that in order for Jackson to enter the website involved he had at some stage given his name, address and credit card details.
Jackson was arrested in 2002 and at that time a computer, a number of floppy discs and various other items were seized. The images had been deleted but were still on the hard drive
Mr Drew said: "When he was interviewed he admitted liking adult pornography but said he didn't look at or possess any paedophilic images."
Mr Drew told Bournemouth Magistrates Court that 10 of the images had been described as "low level erotica" and that four were more graphic images. "They are horrific."
Sean Walters, mitigating, said Jackson was a man of previous good character and said Jackson had not seen any notice about the website containing paedophilic images before he accessed the site.
Jackson was placed on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely and told he could face prison. Magistrates adjourned the case for sentencing to allow a pre-sentence report to be compiled.
