KIND-HEARTED shoppers in Weymouth's Matalan store spent £750 on raffle tickets to improve the life of a severely disabled girl.
Winners of the draw, Tom Legg, Daniel Newnham and Andrew Sloan took home a giant Humphrey bear donated by the store and runners-up Shannon Peaty and Serena Andrews were presented with smaller teddies.
The cash raised will go towards a £1,700 tilt-table to allow Wyvern School pupil Nina Coolman, 12, from Portland, to sit upright.
School assistant Anne Murphy said Nina suffers from Rett Syndrome and added: "The table will enable her to sit up and join in with the other children.
"She cannot stand or speak and has profound difficulties holding things so it will make a great difference to her." The Victoria Inn in Chickerell has boosted Nina's appeal by collecting £250.
