PUPILS at Broadmayne First School were the toast of their pals when they opened up a morning caf.
Youngsters in year four at the village school have been running the toast caf at morning break to help a school in Kenya. Every morning for a week they served up toast and orange juice to friends as part of an appeal to raise money for a project at the Diani Beach school. And their efforts have raised £35.
Headteacher Anne Clark said: "The project is part of an environmental education programme at the Colobus Trust, a primate welfare research and conservation organisation based in Diani.
"The project aims to provide children from both schools with an insight into contrasting cultures and to raise awareness in all the children of environmental and conservation issues faced by each country."
She said money raised at Broadmayne pays for Kenyan children to visit the trust.
