TERRAS Reserves boss Dave Kiteley is sweating on the fitness of goalkeeper Paul Payne ahead of tomorrow's home Syden-hams Wessex Combination clash with Horndean (3pm).

The giant gloveman is recovering from a heel injury, which forced him to miss Wednesday's 2-0

success at BAT Sports.

Payne will undergo a late check at the Wessex Stadium with Kiteley confident he'll pull through.

"Payner picked up the injury last weekend and was really struggling in the week," said the man-ager. "But I spoke to him last night and he reckons he should be OK.

"Young Nick Carroll came in and did a really good job in midweek and so he stands by just in case. If there's any doubt at all about Payner then I'd have no hesitation in turning to Nick."

Depending on who Steve Claridge decides to take with the first team to Cambridge City, Payne for Carroll could be one of only two changes to side that impressed greatly at BAT.

Kiteley added: "We played really well up there and it would be good to field a similar side although we did have John Lamb who I expect to be with the first team. Leon Green's back from his loan spell at Harrow and he'll be with us again and it's a case of waiting to see who Steve chooses to go with."

Improving Weymouth will look to make it five wins from six games tomorrow as they continue their climb away from the Combination drop zone.

Terras: Payne, Carroll, Hill, Dixon, Walker, Bastafield, Nicholson, Bichard, O'Connell, Green, Underhay, Emburey, Bottomley, Carter, Webber.
