A BIG-HEARTED Bournemouth solicitor will be swapping his law books for a rucksack this autumn to take part in his second Inca Trail challenge.
Martin Davies is hoping to raise £50,000 for the Royal Bournemouth Hospital's life-saving Jigsaw scanner appeal by encouraging others to follow suit and support the worthy cause.
Last October Martin raised £5,500 for the Anthony Nolan bone marrow trust after trekking in Peru with 40 other volunteers.
"It was a fantastic experience," he said. "I enjoyed last year's challenge so much I decided to organise another this year for the Jigsaw appeal."
After flying from Heathrow to Lima, Martin and his companions will travel to the ancient city of Cusco, the capital of the Inca Empire.
There will be plenty of time to acclimatise to altitude before the group will climb to 4,200 metres, taking in the sights of the legendary Lost City of Incas; Machu Picchu.
Participants should have a good level of fitness. They will have to pay a £250 deposit for the ten-day trip of a lifetime and raise £2,500 sponsorship.
