AWAYDAY specialist Claus Jorgensen was back among the goals as Cherries recorded a 2-0 win over Team Bath in a hastily-arranged practice match at the University of Bath today (Feb 4).

Jorgensen, who netted in seven consecutive away games for his former club Bradford last season, opened the scoring when his flicked header from a Brian Stock centre was deemed to have crossed the line despite the attempts of a defender to clear.

It was the Danish midfielder's first strike for Cherries since he bagged the last goal at the old Dean Court during a 2-0 win over Northampton in April 2001.

Steve Purches was also on target for Sean O'Driscoll's side, the 24-year-old utility man finishing with aplomb from just inside the box to make it 2-0 midway through the first half.

Purches and Shaun Maher both came through their first major tests since recovering from ankle and calf injuries respectively, although Fawzi Saadi sustained a badly swollen ankle.
