WEYMOUTH College student Tommy Wright seems set to achieve notoriety by becoming the first Big Brother housemate to have sex on the show.
Tommy, 18, of Chapelhay Heights in Weymouth, has said he did the deed with a fellow housemate on the new Teen Big Brother programme.
The pre-recorded Channel 4 show was originally only going to be shown as an educational youth version but is now being screened every night this week at 10pm, hosted by Dermot O'Leary of Big Brother Little Brother fame.
Tommy, who has been studying Japanese at the college, was one of five runners-up in the show along with the girl, barmaid Jade Dyer of Lowestoft.
A friend, who did not want to be named, said Tommy had kept very tight-lipped about what happened but had told him that they did have sex on the show.
He said: "Tommy's a real lad. He went in for a laugh and for the experience of doing it.
"He was chuffed to be one of the runners-up."
More than 20,000 18-year-olds entered to be part of the show and the applicants were whittled down to eight.
The winner won a six-week round the world holiday.
