CENTRAL defender Mike White, who has not started a league game this season after being an ever-present in Dorchester's promotion-winning campaign, faces a big test at table-toppers Worcester tomorrow.

White comes into the the Magpies starting line-up to face the Dr Martens Premier Division leaders because skipper Andy Harris is attending the wedding of his brother Steve, the ex-Dorchester and Bridport full-back.

"Last season, Whitey was tremendous for us and played in every game, but since Alex Browne's arrival he's had to wait patiently on the bench," said Magpies boss Mark Morris. "Now his chance has come and I'm sure he'll do a good job because he's a good player.

"I have tried to put together a squad so that when someone drops out we have good cover - and that is exactly what is happening tomorrow."

Morris said despite the daunting prospect of taking on the league leaders on their own patch, his men were looking forward to the challenge. "This is just the kind of game we worked so hard last season to get the chance to play," he said. "As a player you want to be involved in big games and while we'll go there and show them a lot of respect because of what they have achieved so far, we won't be fearful.

"It's a great chance for us to go and get a scalp and if we do, people will sit up and take notice because Worcester have spent a few quid on their team and are expected to be near the top.

"But we know that with a little bit more luck in games against Hinckley, Havant and Weston on Tuesday we could easily be up there with them on 13 points."

With striker Matt Groves still only doing light training, Morris has called midfielder Steve Legg into the squad tomorrow.
