Jam On It (Verdi's/Mariners, Maiden Street, Weymouth): Here's your chance to try out that new band, or those new songs. Just turn up and have a word with the bald geezer drinking Guinness. Then, at 11pm...

Truly Gone Fishing (Verdis/Mariners, Maiden Street, Weymouth): ...a brand new development, with a band starting up downstairs in Verdi's for the first time in five years once the jam session has finished. Niftily performed covers of today from an excellent new band.

Watkins & Heron (Old Rooms, Cove Street, Weymouth): Folk-inspired acoustic ambience from Kenny & Angela.

Zo Schwarz & Julie Lewis (The Isobar, Trinity Road, Weymouth): Top-flight jazz vocals and piano.

Acoustic Jam Session (George Inn, Refome, Portland): Billy and Mickey from Hokum Society host this come-one, come-all, have-a-go occasion.

John Stone (Bar on the Corner, St Thomas Street, Weymouth): Dancefloor grooves and rock anthems from the splendid Mr Stone.

The Morphs (Verdi's/Mariners, Maiden Street, Weymouth): Here's another cracking young rock band who started off doing a few numbers at the jam session here, and now have their own gig.

Channel 4 (Finn M'Coul's, Westham Road, Weymouth): Seventies and 80s vintage melodic rock, as practiced by AC/DC, Rush, Motorhead and the like.

Hard Rain (Hope & Anchor, St Michael's Lane, Bridport): A dbut here, methinks, for this band, apparently named after a Bob Dylan song.

Stereo Ironics (Old George, Trinity Street, Dorchester): It's Weymouth's own Stereophonics tribute band.

Doctor Blues (George Inn, Custom House Quay, Weymouth): Raw urban blues at the inn place from devotees of the genre.

Splinter (Excise House, Hope Square, Weymouth): Bassist Steve Peach makes his Weymouth dbut for these classic rock experts. Led Zep to Queen to Whitesnake.

Version 2:0 (Black Dog, St Mary Street, Weymouth): Anjee fronts covers from the Small Faces to Stereophonics.

Itchy & Scratchy (The Galley, Hope Street, Weymouth): M'colleague Marco and Al, partners in Chicken (Gothic, that is), strip it down to duo size.
