MARK Morris was raving about Matty Holmes' 56th minute wonder goal after Dorchester got their first away point of the season in a cracking game at Weston-super-Mare last night.

"It was pure quality," said Morris whose side are in ninth place in the Dr Martens Premier Division table after the 1-1 draw.

"Matty took one touch just outside the box to set himself up, juggled the ball a couple of times to get past some defenders and all of a sudden let rip with a terrific shot into the opposite top corner that gave their keeper no chance.

"Every now and then they show one like that on the telly from a Premiership game, but in all the years I played I don't think I saw a better one live."

Morris said his side deserved their point from "a really good game of football."

"It was competitive but played in a good spirit with no silly tackles," said Morris. "We played very well, especially in the second half and after we equalised we probably had three or four chances to nick it to their one," he added.

"Matt Tubbs was a real livewire and gave them a lot of problems towards the end when he threatened to score on several occasions.

"We had a couple of one-on-ones and several very tight offside decisions went against him when he looked away and then he chipped their keeper and a defender cleared off the line.

"But last night every single player did their bit towards the team effort and we are beginning to learn what it takes to get results in this league. We have a big test away to league leaders Worcester City on Saturday but if we continue to show the same passion as we did last night we have nothing to fear."
