Dorchester make the short journey to Bestwall Park, Wareham in high spirits tomorrow to lock horns with Swanage in a South West Division Two East derby clash.

Following their win at Coburg Road against Amersham and Chiltern last week, the county town skipper Richard Elliott said: "We had to beat Amersham last week and the lads pulled out all the stops when it mattered and we are really chuffed with the result.

"The pack played well, the backs gelled and more importantly we did not concede any points, it was definitely our best performance of the season so far.

"However now we must top it if we are to avenge the defeat by Swanage back in October.

"There have been some suggestions that Dorchester will have the advantage with the victory last week and the Swans' not having played for a month, but I would like to dispel that rumour now.

"Anyone who has played in a Dorchester v Swanage derby will know different, it will be hard and fast with no quarter given by either side.

"Steve Barrett is not available so Dan Cowling moves into the second row from number eight with Russ Everesden replacing him at eight.

Justin Pinder was celebrating the birth of his son, Jack last Saturday, but he is taking some time out from changing nappies and will play at blind side wing forward.

Scrum half David Gower returns to the first team following a long term shoulder injury and utility back Matt Joseph will be on the bench."

The Swans' chairman of selectors Andy Cole said: "We will be keeping a very close eye on the pitch, but if the weather forecast is to be believed I would estimate that the chances of the game going ahead are better than 50 per cent.

"We would have liked a run-out at Grove last weekend, but it wasn't to be as their pitch was under-water.

"The lads won't need any pre-match motivational lectures from me or anyone else before this one, the result is as important to us in our promotion chase as it is to Dorchester who are fighting to avoid the drop."

Swans' lock forward Mike Snowden has work commitments and is replaced by Dave Burgess.

Barry Walton returns to play on the wing with Kiwi pace man, Richard Temple-ton starting in the centre.

Weymouth have a friendly at Bridport, skipper Dave Allan said: "Both of our 18-year-old wings James Ford and Mark Croll are back in the team following their Dorset and Wilts under-20 trial last weekend.

"I see this game as a warm up for our league clash at Redlands next Saturday against Sherborne".

Puddletown take a squad of 20 to play Portcastrians also in a friendly.

All games kick-off at 2.15pm.
