THE mother of missing New Year reveller Len Dennis is urging the public to keep eyes peeled for his body.

"I just want him recovered and brought home," Maggie Dennis told the Daily Echo.

The 20-year-old leisure industry worker was last seen jumping off Julians Bridge in Wimborne as he walked home to Corfe Mullen during the early hours of New Year's Day.

Police carried out extensive searches aided by the force marine section and helicopters but had to call off the hunt as the River Stour rose dramatically, causing mass flooding.

Mrs Dennis said: "I need to find him. I have put flyers up at Canford and around Wimborne asking people to be aware he is still missing.

"There are people who have just come back from Christmas holidays who don't know anything about this. River levels have dropped and people are walking again down on the banks so I am asking them to keep their eyes peeled for Len.

"He was dressed all in black so he will be hard to spot but I am urging people to keep looking."

Mrs Dennis made a special plea to people in private houses and factories backing on to stretches of the river not generally accessible to the public.

"Police tell me he will rise at any time and any place although they don't think he has gone beyond Longham because of the sewage works. But it's possible because the river was raging at its highest."

Anyone who spots anything should contact Ferndown Police Station on 01202 552099.
