IT MAY be cold and grey outside, but bright and beautiful summer blooms have sprung up inside the Red House Museum in Christchurch where artist Angela Kernan unveiled her latest exhibition of paintings on Saturday.
Angela lives in Holt near Wimborne, where she draws inspiration from the flowers in her garden and paints in her own colourful, bold, and impressionistic style.
Pencil and charcoal drawings often form the framework for her pictures which are variously completed using crayon, acrylic and oils. She developed her technique after studying as a mature student at the Bournemouth and Poole College under the tutelage of renowned Dorset painters Brian Grah-am and Peter Joyce.
The Red House exhibition which runs until February 9 also features the works of fellow artists Tony Scrivener, Gitta Dick-son and Lorna Low.
