GEOFF Butler has issued a predictable warning ahead of holders Weymouth's Dorset Senior Cup quarter final tie against minnows Cranborne at the Wessex Stadium tonight, kick-off 7.45pm.

"Disregard them at your peril," said the Terras boss as he prepares his side for the visit of the Dorset League Division One table toppers.

"Cranborne might play their football some five leagues below us, but you only have to look back to last Saturday and Shrewsbury's result in the FA Cup against Everton to see that reputations count for nothing.

"We have to be professional in our approach and we'll be treating them with as much respect as we would if we were playing one of the top sides in a Dr Martens Premier Division game.

"For them it's one of the biggest matches in their history and you can be sure they'll be treating it like a cup final. They'll be coming here with absolutely nothing to lose and we must be prepared for every eventuality."

He added: "But if we're sensible and don't get carried away then I can't see us having too many problems. Class and fitness are in our favour and we must make the most of those assets."

Having been starved of competitive action for more than a week because of the inclement weather, Butler is planning to use the game as a warm-up for Saturday's crucial league visit to Tiverton Town.

But one man who won't be getting some much need match practice is midfielder-cum-striker Mark Robinson who is still recovering from a groin injury.

Marc Whiteman (ankle) also misses out along with Michael Dean (hamstring), but skipper Alex Browne will continue his comeback from a knee problem, which began with a run out for the reserves on Saturday.

Butler added: "It's just the opportunity we need following all our recent postponements and I'll be looking to players like Mark Rawlinson, Simon Browne, Michael Sajic, John Lamb, Ryan Ashford and Alex to push their claims for a return to first team football.

"You can train every night for hours on end but there is no better way to work on your match fitness than playing football matches.

"To be honest, I'm not interested in winning at a canter or hammering a hatful of goals tonight. What I want to see is hard work and commitment and with that will come the right result."
