DEK is the world leader in the manufacture of imaging and deposition equipment used in the assembly of printed circuit boards and related semi-conductor technology.

Established in 1968, DEK designs and exports 98 per cent of its production from the principal manufacturing plant in Weymouth. Customers such as Nokia, Intel and Flextronics are supported through a network of more than 20 offices around the world.

In addition to Weymouth, DEK also has manufacturing operations in China and Japan and, globally, employees total 650.

DEK is committed to a community programme where all employees are encouraged to take an active part in local community activities.

This includes the sponsorship of the Weymouth Tornadoes swimming club (enabling the club to provide the team with sports-wear and swimming caps); the partnership with Budmouth and Sport England as the industrial partner in a bid to provide a joint college and community centre; supporting the Dorset Young Enterprise scheme, and fund-raising projects to support charities, schools and churches.

Both directors and employees enjoy a hands-on approach and are regularly seen painting facilities through to refurbishing playgrounds.

DEK also supports its staff who are active with academic organisations, such as Bournemouth University and local schools, in a board member or governor capacity.
