CHERRIES are waiting to discover whether their FA Cup second round replay against Southend will be televised live by Sky Sports.

The Dean Court showdown is one of only four replays due to take place on December 17 and could be broadcast on Sky Sports 2.

Programme schedules are expected to be confirmed today (Dec 10) and the two clubs involved will be notified by the Football Association.

And if Cherries get the vote ahead of Carlisle, Rochdale and Northampton, it would boost the Dean Court coffers to the tune of more than £100,000.

Cherries earned a replay against the Shrimpers after the two sides battled out a thoroughly entertaining 1-1 draw at Roots Hall on Saturday.

However, as fans of both clubs waited with baited breath for the third round draw, the winners were handed a home tie against unfashionable Crewe Alexandra.

Cherries chairman Peter Phillips told the Daily Echo: "We are delighted with a home draw and I'm sure Southend will say the same.
