Dorset & Wilts Division One Weymouth 22 Blandford 7

BLANDFORD'S day out at the seaside proved a fruitless one with Weymouth running out comfortable winners.

The north Dorset club, were slow to get going although they did come back into the game late on to cause their hosts a few nervy moments.

The Seasiders' prop Steve Hodgson was first to trouble the scoreboard operators with a try that was converted by fly half Duggie Bader.

Bader himself was next across for the line for Weymouth with a well taken try and it was the same player who got up to stroke the conversion.

Blandford rallied and a lapse in the home defence allowed fly half Ollie Burrey in for a touchdown with hooker Kevin Robbins adding the extra point.

Giant Soman Sam I'sako came on as substitute number eight and put his vast bulk to good use when he drove over the visitors' line for a try with half the Blandford pack in tow.

Bader capped a fine personal display and sealed the Seasiders' victory landing a drop goal from fully 40 metres out.
