Cherries dumped Doncaster Rovers out of the FA Cup after an all-action clash at Dean Court.

Rovers fought hard, cancelling out a Danny Thomas goal before conceding another to Wade Elliott.

Striker Warren Feeney retained his place against Conference high flyers Doncaster.

Cherries surged forward from the kick-off and the home side had a strong appeal for a penalty turned down with just one minute on the clock when Steve Fletcher appeared to be tripped by Jamie Price.

Seven minutes later Purches saw a fierce drive go wide and Elliott was causing Rovers all sorts of problems with his trickery down the right wing.

Rovers were finding it difficult to get out of their own half as Cherries kept up the pressure and in the 20th minute another Elliott cross was met by Fletcher but his header was comfortably held by keeper Warrington.

Rovers then began to look more composed and confident going forward and Albrighton fired over the bar in the 30th minute.

But Bournemouth got back in the driving seat in the 37th minute when Ryan was robbed by Feeney allowing Danny THOMAS to break for goal. The striker then calmly slotted the ball past Warrington to put Cherries ahead.

It was now all Bournemouth as the Cherries pushed for a second goal. Half-time:

AFC Bournemouth 1

Doncaster Rovers 0

Tempers boiled over early in the second-half when Steve Fletcher and Jamie Price clashed. Both were booked and then Rovers Justin Jackson was sent off for foolishly kicking at Fletcher.

Rovers Mark Albrighton was also booked as the Cherries pushed forward to take advantage. But ten man Rovers equalised in the 69th minute when an Owen corner was shot home by substitute Gill.

In the 73rd minute Wade Elliott put Bournemouth back in front with a 25-yard shot and Watson could have easily equalised for Rovers four minutes later but he scuffed his shot.

Cherries' Warren Feeney was stretchered off in the 83rd minute and his side held on for a deserved victory.
