BRIDPORT Arts Centre has a busy weekend ahead thanks to a brace of fine performances, starting tomorrow night with Projet Brassens.

This French-themed evening will feature the British-based cabaret jazz quartet performing the music of the cross-Channel poet and singer/songwriter George Brassens.

The evening has been arranged by the Bridport-St Vaast-la-Hogue Twinning Association and will include an auction of pledges, including renting a gite in France, a course of French lessons and some fine French wines.

The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets are £7 plus concessions.

On Saturday, Theatre Alibi brings its children-friendly show Teapot to the venue at 2pm.

The story is based around an old teapot, found on a farm before the Second World War, and from it come a marvellous selection of stories involving the cat Blinky, who goes to the other side of the moon in an adventure including teapots, geese and Blooper the bear.

This is delightful theatre for children aged five to 10 - and grown-ups will love it!

Tickets are £6 plus concessions (£3 for kiddies). For details of all arts centre shows call (01308) 424204.
