POLICE are appealing for the public's help in finding a vulnerable North Dorset carer who drove her disabled husband to the chemist and didn't return.

Sarah West, 45, of Green Close, Sturminster Newton, suffers from ill health and does not have her medication. She was last seen at 10.15am on Tuesday when she drove into Sturminster Newton town centre with her disabled husband to collect his medication.

Police are appealing to residents in Sturminster Newton, Gillingham, Shaf-tesbury and Blandford to keep a lookout for her.

She was last seen in the Market Place at Blandford at around 11am on Tuesday when she was dropped off by a taxi that she had hailed in Station Road at Sturminster Newton. She is described as white, 4ft 8ins to 5ft tall, of stocky build and with short dark ginger hair that can appear to be dyed red. She has a northern accent and was wearing fawn trousers with a cobra or serpent on the right trouser leg, a white T-shirt and an orange patterned cardigan.

Sgt Pete Lawrence of Sherborne police said: "We would like householders could check garages or outbuildings and farmers buildings on their land in case Mrs West is there."

Anyone who sees Mrs West, or who has any information should call police on 01202 552099.
