FEARS are growing for the safety of a 45-year-old woman who has gone missing without her medication.

Police said Sarah West, who has health problems, has not been seen since 10.15am on Tuesday and believe she could be in Weymouth where she lived before she got married.

Mrs West is a carer for her disabled husband and lives in Green Close, Sturminster Newton.

On the morning of her disappearance she drove into Sturminster Newton town centre with her husband to collect his medication.

She did not return to the car.

Police said she was spotted at 11am in Market Place in Blandford after she was dropped off by a taxi she hailed in Station Road, Sturminster Newton.

Police are urging people in Weymouth and the surrounding area to keep a look out.

She is described as 4ft 8ins to 5ft, stocky build and has short dark ginger hair that can appear to be dyed red. She has a northern accent.

She was wearing fawn trousers with a serpent-shape design on the right leg, a white T-shirt and an orange zig-zag patterned cardigan.

Sergeant Pete Lawrence, of Sherborne Police, said: "We are concerned for Mrs West's welfare as she has health problems and left without taking her medication."

Anyone who sees Mrs West should contact police on (01202) 552099.
