PROMISING high school swimming star, and all-round Mr Popular, Ben Cronin (Jesse Bradford) looks like he has the world at his feet. He's on course for a scholarship and has an apple pie cutie of a girlfriend in Amy (Shiri Miller).

But an ill-advised one night stand with vanilla blonde new girl Madison (Erika Christensen) and the bodies start to pile up. She could have anyone she wants, but she only wants Ben and she's not going to take no for an answer.

It turns out that Ben's got a slightly dodgy past and when he is suddenly dumped from the swimming team for taking steroids he swears he has never seen before, he starts to get suspicious and it's not long before he is checking on Madison's history.

Basically, this is Fatal Attraction for minors - a solid enough story that is hard to make a mess of. None of the actors are exactly out of their depth, but then what's expected of them keeps them in the shallow end anyway.

The star of the show is Christensen, who some may remember as Michael Douglas' drug-addled daughter in Traffic, but look out also for old stager Dan Hedaya as the swimming coach.
