SEVENTIES teen idol Donny Osmond will play Bournemouth next year as part of a major new UK tour.

The singer, who 30 years ago captured the hearts of millions of teenage fans with songs like Puppy Love and Too Young, will play the BIC on Friday March 14.

Tickets for the concert - part of his forthcoming Somewhere In Time tour - cost £23.50 and £27.50. They go on sale tomorrow (Sept 20).

The American singing star originally found fame as part of The Osmonds, a barbershop-style harmony outfit turned pop group originally been formed by his older brothers.

By the time he was six Donny had become part of the band. Within a few years he was their star vocalist.

The strict Mormon family offered a ready-made visual gimmick with their wholesome image and Donny was the cleanest cut of them all.

By the age of 14 he was topping the charts as a solo performer and even though there were more Osmonds waiting in the wings - sister Marie and brother Little Jimmy were soon on board - Donny remained the most popular of them all.
