SUBSTITUTE Warren Feeney sparked an astonishing Bournemouth recovery after they had gone two goals behind by scoring once and being responsible for the others in an action-filled Second Division match at Dorchester today.

The Cherries could hardly have made a worst start, goalkeeper Gareth Stewart gifting Notts County the softest of goals in the third minute.

Stewart had plenty of time and room to clear after receiving a back pass, but he hit the ball straight to striker Tony HACKWORTH who ran through from the edge of the area to shoot into an empty net.

Notts County almost got another in the sixth minute when a Danny Allsopp shot flew narrowly wide. Then Allsopp ran unchallenged from the halfway line to get in a shot which Stewart held comfortably.

Both sides needed to make a substitution in the first quarter of the match. Warren replaced the limping Liburd for Notts County but the appearance of Feeney in place of Narada looked more tactical.

Notts County went further ahead after 24 minutes, as Danny Allsopp beat Stewart with a low right foot shot from the edge of the area, but that was the signal for an astonishing come back by Bournemouth.

Bournemouth scored three times in 10 minutes starting in the 35th when Richardson was caught in possession by Feeney, and in an desperate attempt to retreive his error conceded a penalty with a lunged tackle.

Wade Elliott had no trouble in despatching the penalty.

Five minutess later and Bournemouth were level. Again Feeney was involved turning sharply and slipping through a pass which Carl Fletcher put away with a right foot shot.

In the last minute of the first half another clumsy challenge, this time by Warren bought down Hayter and again Elliott put away the penalty with the minimum of fuss.

Notts County's shell-shocked manager Gary Brazil sent on former Southampton junior Ian Hamilton in place of Michael Brough at the start of the second half.

Notts County looks to have levelled after 48 minutes when Allsopp converted at the far post, centre from Stallard but his effort was ruled out for offside.

Holmes should have put Bournemouth even more firmly in front after 50 minutes when another surging run from Elliott left him eight yards out.

With only the keeper to beat he delayed his shot and Mildenhall saved easily.

Stock was booked for a foul in the 55th minute and then twice in succession Notts County should have scored but both Stallard and Cass shot over from inside the area.

Soon after Hughes had replaced the limping Howe in the 63rd minute Notts County were reduced to 10 men.

Hayter attempted to burst through and was blatantly held back by last man Grayson, and referee Ross had no option but to show the red card.

Bournemouth went further in front in the 70th minute, a superb individual effort from FEENEY, collecting the ball on the halfway line, running at the defence and scoring with a low left foot drive.
