CRASH Hedgehog Hospital in Canford Heath is struggling to care for some 80 in-patients.
The hospital is the only one in the area to look after abandoned and sick hedgehogs, but it has suffered due to the foot-and-mouth crisis. As hedgehogs can carry the infectious disease, they could not be moved and owner Angela Squires has only just been able to release her winter patients. Now she is inundated with babies, 25 of which need 24-hour care, and she is appealing for funds.
"I am currently unable to take any more in," she said, "and I'm close to running out of medication and food."
Angela is on 01202 699358.
