THE house where Tesco bomber Robert Dyer plotted his terrifying blackmail campaign against the supermarket giant is being sold.
Estate agents have been instructed to market the two-bedroom bungalow in Caroline Road, Kinson, for £87,500.
The modest property, which has fallen into disrepair since Dyer's arrest, was at the centre of a six-month Dorset police investigation codenamed Operation Hornbill.
Police launched a manhunt in September 2000 after four letter bombs were sent to homes in the Bournemouth area. One exploded when it was opened by a 70-year-old Ferndown man.
Threatening letters were also sent to a number of other Tesco customers and the public were warned to be on their guard.
Detectives called at Caroline Road on February 19 after tracing Dyer, 51, from checks on people who had used a post box in Castle Lane.
He invited them in and agreed to provide samples required for elimination purposes. His home computer was studied and a copy of a blackmail letter discovered.
Dyer, an electrician and a father-of-two, was arrested. He later admitted nine charges of blackmail and one of common assault in relation to a letter bomb and was jailed for 16 years.
