• WHAT a success the Christmas in the Park show was, which was put on at the Park Community Centre last Saturday to celebrate Christmas.

The first act was Mathew Cornick on his accordion, followed by Street dancers GwellC Dance crew. Belly Dancers, Juno, wowed the audience with their dancing followed by Mercury Dance. Compere and show producer, Ray Banham, then introduced the forum’s very own Waterside Singers, who got the audience singing away to end the first half.

In the second half, the surprise of the night was the appearance on stage of Ray Banham, as Freddie Mercury. The place rocked!.

All artists then joined the audience singing “We’ll meet again”.

A truly successful night, which, hopefully, will be repeated next year.

The raffle was drawn at the interval. The winner of the Christmas cake was Ann, from Bon-Bon. Mrs Cart, Joe Ward, Dennis Mould and Anna were also winners.

The Forum would like to thank all the performers who gave there time for free and to everyone who came along and supported the show and raffle. Over £400 was raised.

  • ON a sad note we did not get very many local residents attending. It seems that everyone is only too willing to moan about the Park district, and that nothing is done for them, but when the Forum arranges a fantastic show we do not get the support.

Please residents talk to us and explain what you do want.

Come to our next Community Meeting on Wednesday, January 19 at 7,30pm. The committee hopes to see you there.

  • JUST a reminder that the refuse and re-cycling collections for the Park area are as NORMAL through the Christmas period, please try and keep the area tidy.
  • THE Park Community Centre will be closed from Thursday, December 23 until January 5.

Although it is still not too late to book your Children’s Party for 2011, please telephone 839579 for details.

  • The Forum would like to wish all residents a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We hope to see you at the centre in the New Year.
