THE well is well-dressed and invites us to walk in bluebell woods – glorious colours gleam under the arches. Congratulations to Maggie Cooke and her team for yet another splendid effort.
It was installed with all due ceremony for the May bank holiday and, kept carefully, should remain on display for two or three weeks more. Take tea in the cafe and enjoy the lovely spring gardens as well.
LOTS of events to celebrate the Royal Wedding were held in Upwey for that very special occasion and, by all accounts, everyone had a great time.
Congratulations all those who put in the effort to organise parties and, we’re told, raised considerable sums for various charities.
THE Wessex Research Group will be meeting on Wednesday, May 11, 7.30pm at the Memorial Hall when the speaker will be Peter Knight.
His topic is the West Kennet Long Barrow and he’ll be describing the landscape, shamans and cosmos of this ancient monument.

SPRINGWATCH in Upwey is the next event to be held by the Upwey Society when Tom Clarke and Luke Phillips of the RSPB are inviting you to come and discover, enjoy and marvel at wild life at our Goulds Bottom picnic park on Wednesday, May 18, 6.30pm.
There’ll be tree trails, scavenger hunts, birdwatching, arts and crafts and all sorts of things to do and it’s all free!
