I write to congratulate Skanska on their cycle route to Dorchester.
Having dodged the traffic at the Asda junction regardless of high visibility clothing and a lime green bike frame I then made my way to the ‘new road’.
I was pleased to be told by a jovial construction worker wielding a swing shovel, that I could continue on the new cycle route that follows the route of the old road over the Ridgeway. This came as some relief given the speeds witnessed on the relief road. I safely arrived in Dorchester without venturing onto a high speed or congested vehicle road.
I would fully recommend the new cycle route to both families and the lone cyclist. Finally we have a part of the transport system that works well, is fit for purpose and more importantly is safe to use.
