THE FINAL preparations are underway as Milton Abbas prepares to welcome thousands of visitors to its Street Fair on Saturday.

Performers for the 18th century fair are busy rehearsing in the village, including comic singing performers the Muckspreaders, and villagers are getting their period costumes ready in a bid to win the best dressed competitions.

Local women have also been working round the clock to make 2,500 bunting flags for the event.

Record interest ahead of this year’s event has seen 150 stallholders sign up to show off crafts or offer local produce.

There will be plenty to keep the children entertained as well including a magician, Punch and Judy and trampolines.

The fair starts at 11am, with free car parking available.

Entry is £6 for adults, £3 for children, £4 for concessions and families £13. For more information visit miltonabbas.org.uk
