Cricket fans will be bowled over by the entertainment at a charity event supporting patients with bowel cancer.
The Ducks and Drakes Trust is holding a cricket challenge and fund day at Plush Cricket Ground on Saturday, August 20 from 12noon.
There will be a ball pool and skittles for children on the day as well as a bar and food on sale.
The cricket will see teams competing for the Ducks and Drakes trophy, with entry costing £5 per head for any teams wishing to take part including a cricket tea.
The Ducks and Drakes Trust was inspired by Andrew Drake from Buckland Newton, who was just 24 when he had to have his colon removed due to bowel cancer.
The Trust is trying to raise awareness of bowel cancer for younger people and is aiming to raise money towards the training of nurses in Dorset County Hospital’s colorectal department. Call 01258 881116 if you are interested in taking part.
