FOR THOSE interested in the progress of the Children of Fiji balloons (launched from Cattistock on Sunday, July 11), the balloon that has travelled the furthest so far was found in Ebershausen in Germany. It had travelled 604.66 miles!

The closing date for returned tickets is Thursday, August 11, so there is still a chance that this might be beaten.

PAM’S GARDEN Party will take place at Rockforge in Cattistock on Saturday August 6 from 2.30 - 4.30pm. There will be cakes bric-a-brac, a raffle, books, produce, games and cream teas. Please come along to meet friends and to support the event.

All money raised will be in aid of the church.

THE CATTISTOCK First Responders will be serving cream teas in the Savill Hall on Sunday August 14.

This will be followed by "Praise in the Park", a short fun-filled service at 6pm on the community playground.

After the service there will be a barbeque.

CREAM Teas will be served in Frampton Village Hall on Sunday afternoons during August and September in aid of various charities and village groups.

On Sunday, August 7 the teas will be in conjunction with Village Flower Show and on Sunday, August 14 they will be in aid of Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

Please come along from 3pm to enjoy a delicious cream tea and to support an excellent cause.

A VILLAGE Flower Show will be held at Frampton Village Hall on Saturday, August 6 (from 2.30 – 5 pm) and Sunday, August 7 (from 3 – 5 pm, with cream teas available) ALSO at Frampton Village Hall, but on Saturday, August 13, there will be Bingo in aid of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. Eyes down will be at 7.30pm.

STRATTON Home and Garden Club is holding its Summer Show at 2pm on Saturday, August 13 in Stratton Village Hall.

Admission is free.

Show schedules are available from any committee member.

MEMBERS of the Ivy Club in Maiden Newton are reminded that there is an outing to Barnstaple on Tuesday, August 2.

A SONGS of Praise service will be held in the church at Frome St Quintin at 6.30 on Sunday, August 14.

Come along and enjoy refreshments and meet friends from 5.30pm.
