MARKING the end of their events season, the Royal Manor of Portland AC will be holding the Dumble Bimble Runs, their big charity, community and fun event, on Tuesday, September 6.

This was started many years ago by the RMPAC Club in memory of Alan and Andrew Dumble who both lost their lives to cancer and all proceeds from the night will go as always to the Weldmar Hospice Trust.

Mrs Jan Dumble, widow of Alan and mother of Andrew said: “It is our way of showing our gratitude for the care given to Alan and Andrew at the hospice.”

The runs starts and finish at the YMCA, Reforne, Portland and the cost for entry is £2 for adults and £1 for children – payable on the night.

The 5 mile run will start at 7pm (minimum age 15 years) and the two-mile ‘bimble’ will follow.

The route is a gentle walk or run down to Easton, up to the Heights Hotel, back down Wide Street to YMCA and any age group can enter this distance and parents with children in push chairs can often be seen tackling this distance both for the fun and in support of the charity.

Sponsorship forms can be obtained from Jan Dumble on 861291 or from Portland Sports' shop in Easton Square.

There will be many prizes to be won and a raffle will also take place during this very sociable event.
