REVELLERS are set to turn the clock back to the ‘best days of their life’ for a school disco themed fundraiser.

Melissa Allen-Denton is holding the charity event – which also includes speed dating – at Banus nightclub in Weymouth town centre on Friday, November 11 from 9pm onwards.

The fancy dress fun is in aid of Weldmar Hospicecare Trust and Womankind.

Melissa, who lives in Weymouth, said: “It is going to be fancy dress with school uniforms, wonky ties and pigtails.

“It will be an evening of typical school disco music: eighties, nineties and noughties.

“Prior to this we will be hosting a speed dating event just for an hour for any singletons who wish to potentially meet someone special.

“But the idea is the event is open to all and we want to encourage couples to come and help match-make.”

Entry to the extravaganza is just £5.

Melissa has previously organised fundraisers for Weldmar as well as One World Action.

They have included Dirty Dancing, Nostalgia rave themed and power ballad themed nights.

She said: “It has been a while since I have done anything for Weldmar so I felt the time is right to raise some money for them and have fun at the same time.”

Melissa stressed that the event was open to all as well as anyone who wanted to join in the speed dating fun and urged people to join in the event.

“For the mere sum of five pounds, and all in aid of Weldmar Hospicecare Trust and Womankind, you could not only meet the love of your life, but you also get to shake your booty to some great DJs, dressed in your school uniform.”

She added: “If you are attached and want to come with your other half to help match-make then feel free.

“Cupid needs some helpers.

“Who knows, there could be wedding bells in months to come.”

Posters for the school disco carry a Grange Hill theme with pictures of Tucker Jenkins and Trisha Yates.
