Once again I witnessed a customer in a charity shop ask the assistant if they could have a substantial reduction on the ticket price of an item. When are people going to understand that charity shops are not there for you, they are there to make money for whatever charity is named above the door.

Everyone who donates their unwanted goods to a charity shop wants the charity to get as much money for their items for the charity itself not for the charity to sell their items at a ridiculously low price. Today the sales assistant was clearly embarrassed but refused to reduce the price and rightly so. The jacket had nothing wrong with it and was worth twice what was on the ticket and she would have been doing the charity she worked for a disservice if she had done so.

Maybe the person who asked was trying to take advantage as the assistant was elderly. Either way the assistant said no and the lady purchased the jacket at the ticket price and drove off in her very nice car.

Please think twice about doing this in future people.
