AS A patient governor at DCHT I am concerned that the Royal College of Surgeons, in a recent study, has found that patients undergoing emergency surgery are four times more likely to die in this country than in the US.

The College of Surgeons states the reason for these shocking figures are poor NHS care, patients waiting too long, lack of critical care after the operation, not enough intensive care beds etc.

These figures are a disgrace.

This report is from the experts the surgeons carrying out the operations.

Can I ask Oliver Letwin, MP and a cabinet minister, and Richard Drax MP that they will give a pledge to the Dorset people who elected them that they will raise this matter in parliament with the Health Minister and inform all of us in Dorset what action is being taken.

Yes, I know we are in debt but we still find billions of pounds to interfere in Afghanistan and Libya instead of looking after the British peoples wellbeing and health.
