I write in respect of comments regarding the fairy lights on Weymouth seafront.
Since I was a young child they have always been there, also lighting our Royal Jubilee Clock.
Sadly now they have gone to save money. Surely this is wrong.
In Paignton, Devon, they are still there and run on solar power, therefore no expense – the bulbs hardly never need replacing.
So many Weymouth people – and people up and down the country – have written in to deplore this removal of our lights.
We should have a protest group to let the council know Weymouth residents and others think this is a terrible mistake on our beautiful seafront.
