TALENTED artists and budding graphic designers can take part in a new logo competition.

The contest is being launched by the Pan Dorset Autistic Spectrum Condition Partnership Board, a new initiative comprising of organisations across Dorset working together to improve many aspects of life for people with autistic spectrum conditions (ASC) including Asperger syndrome.

A £20 prize is up for grabs for the best design.

Allyson Evans of Dorset County Council said: “About 6,000 people in Dorset have autism or Asperger syndrome. The partnership board works to raise awareness of the condition and make sure that the people affected are involved in decisions that concern them.

“We are looking for a powerful yet easily reproduced logo to use in a range of publications and visual displays that will help raise awareness to give people with autistic spectrum conditions a stronger voice across the county.”

The closing date is April 30 and the winning design will be chosen in May. Designs should be sent in as jpg or png files and the original should be about A4 size. The logo will be used in a much smaller size as well, so it also needs to look good when it is about 2 cm square.
