Those writing in complaining that the prices in charity shops are too high are surely missing the point of what these shops are aiming to achieve?
This is the maximum income to benefit whichever cause they are raising funds for.
If someone donates a twice-worn designer item of clothing to them why should they not then obtain the very best price for it?
If they were to virtually give the stuff away it would only re-appear on eBay the very next day.
The fact that they enjoy preferential trading terms enables them to donate more of the income they generate to their given cause.
How many people have benefitted from the research or support made possible by these shops?
Stop knocking them.
