THE long-term future of Weymouth Museum is secure following an award of £100,000 of funding from the local council.
The museum is set to move into a new home at the Mulberry Centre in Commercial Road in April.
Weymouth and Portland borough councillors backed the funding for the attraction as they approved the budget for 2012/13.
The museumused to be at Brewers Quay.
Council leisure and tourism spokesman Andy Blackwood said: “Weymouth Museum is an extremely important asset for the community, showcasing its rich heritage.”
