SO, £7.7million a year income from Condor and the council has failed to provide adequate funding for the upkeep of the harbour wall – what is going on? Did the council in its wisdom think that the proposed Weymouth Pavilion site developer at the time would pay for it?

Even after the demise of that particular project they failed to address the problem.

To blame the pavilion for taking some of the funding is ludicrous.

Maintaining the infrastructure of our harbour is of paramount importance to the survival of Weymouth as a ferry port and the provision of income to local businesses, so diverting funding to other areas should never have even been considered.

With local elections looming is it time to remove the ‘dead wood’ who it is evident have become complacent and no longer serve our community well?
