GUESTS to a London hotel will see Weymouth Olympian Nick Dempsey ‘windsurfing’ on their bed using a bed sheet as a sail.

The Athens bronze medallist is among four Olympic and Paralympic stars chosen to be part of the first ‘augmented reality hotel’.

Cutting edge technology is bringing to ‘virtual life’ the athletes at the Holiday Inn London Kensington Forum.

Guests can view videos on smartphones or tablets and also have their picture taken with the athletes ‘auras’ to share online.

Holiday Inn is the official hotel provider for the London 2012 Games and the aim is to wow guests and increase excitement.

Nick, aged 31, of Wyke Regis, said: “It’s so 3D that you find yourself putting your hand in front of your smartphone or tablet to try and touch it.

“It’s a great way to get people excited about the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.”
